Aikyam - ऐक्यम् - is a beautiful Sanskrit word. For it seeks to hint on the fundamental truth: of Oneness. :)
categories - labels - identity - these exist because our minds will us to.
Yet if we for a brief moment close our eyes, we are free in the darkness.
Darkness shatters illusion, enabling beautiful Light within.
We realize beyond the physical form, there is an invisible thread that connects us all.
A thread unseen, a thread only felt. ❤️
In this spirit we are excited to announce Aikyam - June 15, 3 pm 🌸.
Each Odissi dancer’s piece will beat to the rhythm of their own hearts. Yet at the core, all One amongst the rhythm.
To express our own Self and yet allow it to be lost amidst all that Is.
One with the art;
Art one amongst us -
Aikyam, June 15. Join us for an enchanting evening.❤️

To the hidden loving force behind all that is Guru Shradha, and what it has come to be.
Happy birthday to our beloved Guru, Director Niharika Mohanty!! 💕
Working tirelessly behind the scenes, her passion for Odissi is unmatched, and the nights, days, and energy is something incredibly special.
Some say love is an ocean. Its waves never end, its feeling only submerges us once we fall into its touch.
Well for Guru Shradha the ocean of love stems from Rini Apa. Her emotion, passion, aura has created a landscape so beautiful. And that landscape is Guru Shradha.
Happy birthday to Rini Apa!! We wish from all of our hearts a joyous day filled with happiness and light ❤️

Here we share beautiful poses from Lalita Lavanga, an excerpt from the Gita Govinda, group choreography by Guru @sujatamohapatra_official ❤️
Odissi plays with our hearts. Hidden in its structure of tribanghi, chouka, mudras, abhinaya, adavus…is the secret truth: its very purpose is to convey what transcends this very structure.
Sanskrit poetry too seeks to evoke what can only be felt, never defined.

Red flames, famished.
It wanders.
Searching for what is most coveted, but never held.
Searching for what cannot be found, only felt.
Searching for what cannot last, yet stays for a lifetime.
This, is what this excerpt of Lalita Lavanga perhaps depicts if one imagines beyond the lines.
And this is what these beautiful Odissi poses perhaps convey, if one imagines beyond the structure.

Blue skies aghast. Cerulean tones swirl to pale blue, collapsing into never ending indigo.
If we could simply toss away the world’s demands and look up. The sky’s blue waves could captivate us for a lifetime, and more.
Perhaps this never-ending feeling of love is what Sanskrit poet Jayadeva must have felt, as he wrote the epic Gita Govinda, which depicts the timeless love story of Radha, and Krishna. Krishna poured love to the world around him. It is maybe apt then that those he touched couldn’t help but fall in love as well. :)
Whether it be Radha, village goers of Brindavan, or even inspiring awe from Kaliga - Krishna has captivated, and continues to captivate, hearts alike to this day.
Love, compassion - these energies are never-ending - and we can find them within all of us. :)
Here we share a beautiful Odissi excerpt of Srita Kamala, lyrical verses from Jayadeva’s Gita Govinda ❤️.
