Ensemble
Formed in 2019, the Guru Shradha Ensemble brings together senior disciples of Guru Shradha, each a skilled soloist in their own right. These dancers, hailing from diverse backgrounds and united by years of dedicated training, share a commitment to imbibing the prestigious tradition and mastering the nuanced technique of Guru Kelucharan Mohapatra. The Ensemble demonstrates both individual brilliance and collective harmony, performing as a unified company and in regionally based groups (West and East). Their performances have been featured at prominent festivals across the United States, including those in the Bay Area, Michigan, NYC, and North Carolina.

Deepa Mahadevan
Dr. Deepa Mahadevan has been a student of Guru Shradha since 2010. She has been under the tutelage of Niharika Mohanty with yearly intensive workshops with both Guru Sujata Mohapatra and Guru Ratikant Mohapatra. She has been part of several productions of Guru Shradha including ‘Dashanan’ at the International Odissi festival- 2011 in India where she played the role of Lakshmana. In 2019, she performed for the International Odissi Alliance, which took place in North Carolina, USA. Her performance was also featured as a soloist at the Biswa Odissi Festival held online in the year 2021. She has been presented as a soloist and ensemble dancer in several of Guru Shradha performances including the Drive East Festival held in 2021 and at UNC Charlotte. Dr. Deepa Mahadevan is also a Bharatanatyam dancer, teacher, choreographer and the founder/artistic director of Tiruchitrambalam school of dance. She is also the founder of Art education, non-profit, Matrusena. She completed her Phd. in Performance Studies from the University of California, Davis- www.deepamahadevan.com, www.matrusena.org

Kanika Mitra Bhattacharya
Kanika is a student and an assistant teacher of Odissi dance at Guru Shradha under Guru Niharika Mohanty. She started learning Odissi more than a decade ago in Bangalore under Guru Sharmila Mukerjee and performed in various venues such as Konark dance festival, Mukteswar dance festival, Dover lane dance festival and more. She also performed in Tunisia sponsored by Ministry of Cultural affairs, Government of India. She performed in many festivals in Bay Area also like Kelucharan Keerti Sampradaya, Kelucharan Guna Keertana, Nrityamela etc. She performed solo and also as an Ensemble group. She has done choreography on different classical and semi-classical dances. She is continuously doing workshop with Guru Sujata Mahapatra and Guru Ratikanta Mahapatra.

Anjana Mohanty
Anjana began dancing at the age of 5 under Guru Chitra Krishnamurthi in Potomac, MD. She completed several years of training under Guru Krishnamurthi and beginning in 2009 receiving advanced training from Guru Sujata Mohapatra. Notable performances during this time include the Odissi Dance Festival in Bhubhaneswar, India, Gita Govindam Dance Tour with Nrtyakala and Sujata Mohapatra through select cities in India, and Amazing Odisha presented at the Kennedy Center. Anjana joined Guru Shradha's East Coast Ensemble in 2024.

Namrata Mohanty
Namrata Mohanty began learning Odissi at the age of five under Guru Dr. Chitra Krishnamurti, Founder-Director of Nrityalaya School of Odissi Dance in Maryland. She completed her solo debut under Dr. Krishnamurti's tutelage and was a prominent performer in Nrityalaya and the DC/Maryland area, with notable performances at Strathmore Mansion, Gandhi Memorial Center, Catholic University of America, and the Kennedy Center. Namrata returned to Odissi in 2019 with Guru Shradha and has since performed in The Nutshell, Drive East Festival, and Kelucharan Keerti Sampradaya as a member of Guru Shradha’s Ensemble. Namrata continues to hone her Odissi dance under Niharika Mohanty, with workshops under master teachers Guru Ratikant and Sujata Mohapatra, and has become a key dancer and teacher with Guru Shradha.

Divya Saha
Odissi has been an integral part of Divya’s life since the age of seven. She began her Odissi journey in 2003 under the guidance of Smt. Nandita Behera in Southern California. Since 2006, she has had the honor of learning from Smt. Niharika Mohanty, Smt. Sujata Mohapatra, and Sri Ratikant Mohapatra and was part of the inaugural class of Guru Shradha in 2008. Throughout her time at Guru Shradha, she has had the opportunity to perform in numerous programs across the U.S. and India. One of her fondest memories is representing Guru Shradha in both a solo and ensemble performance at the International Festival in Bhubaneswar, India, in December 2011. Grateful for the training and experiences provided by Guru Shradha, Divya looks forward to continuing to learn and grow as a dancer for years to come.

Trina Sarkar
Trina Sarkar began her Odissi training under Smt. Nandita Behera at the age of 5 in Los Angeles, CA. Since then, she has been performing both nationally and internationally at venues such as the International Odissi Dance Festival in Bhubaneswar, the International Arts Festival in San Francisco, the International Odissi Festival in Charlotte, North Carolina and the Indian Fine Arts Festival in San Diego. She was also selected as a National YoungArts finalist for World Dance in 2012 and a Smaran Dance Festival participant in 2019. She now lives in NYC and trains under Smt. Niharika Mohanty as a senior Guru Shradha ensemble member.

Maya Gollumudi
Maya started dancing at age 6 with Guru Shradha. She is grateful for the discipline and work ethic she gained from learning at a young age with Rini Apa and continues to be inspired by her teaching. Maya’s milestone performances include Guru Shradha’s 2008 school opening, Samsmaranam 2012, Odissi International 2014, dancing in Guru Sujata Mohapatra’s troupe at the Chinmaya Mission in 2016, and KKS 2023. Much of Maya’s Odissi training was completed with her mother, Vasanta Gollamudi. Maya’s training was further enriched through workshops with Guru Sujata Mohapatra, Guru Ratikant Mohapatra, and Guru Vishnu Tattva Das, with additional training from Smt. Geetanjali Acharya. Maya danced on UCLA’s award-winning Indian Classical dance team, UCLA Taara, where she showcased her own Odissi choreography in competitions nationwide

Maya Devalcheruvu
Born and brought up in the San Francisco Bay Area and yet having been amidst an Odissi dance environment throughout her years, Maya Lochana Devalcheruvu has an innate form visible in her dance. She is the daughter/disciple of Smt. Niharika Mohanty, and has been training in legendary Odissi maestro Guru Kelucharan Mohapatra’s dance tradition at Guru Shradha for the past 18 years from age 4, with further training from Gurus Ratikant & Sujata Mohapatra. Maya has been performing solo, duet, and in the Guru Shradha Ensemble in the US, Canada, the Bahamas, and India. Notably, she has performed in the Odissi International Festivals, Odisha Society of Americas Conventions, San Francisco Ethnic Dance Festivals, San Francisco International Arts Festival, and Drive East Festival among several other programs and festivals. Maya Lochana is a teacher in Guru Shradha, giving guidance to many students. Maya is graduating from Northeastern University with a B.S. in International Business and International Affairs.
